EMERALD DOOAR’S
Introduction
Gangtok, the "Lofty Hill" or the "Hill made flat to build the Gangtok monastery in 1716". Gangtok is a city, which, till one sees it, one would believe exists only in picture-story books. In the mystery-laden mists prayer flags whip in the breeze; wheels spin in the hands of Lamas mumbling invocations to God, in the distance are the snows, on the streets amidst brightly painted pagoda roofed houses, lined with friendly smiling people are silver, silk and spice and jewellery to gladden an maiden's heart, from across the seven seas are gadget and goods to delight the collector of "imported goods', while directly overlooking the city is the hill Lukshyma, the 'Mother of Pearl' citadel of the magic mountain, Khang-Chen-Dzod-Nga.
An air of enchantment hangs over the city, indeed the whole valley; the mysticism, the stupas, the monasteries reach out as soon as one has crossed the border. While across the hills and valleys comes the sounding of the long trumpets by robed lamas.

ITINERARY
Option-1 (3 Days or 4 Days)
DAY-1:
Arrive, NJP transfer to Jeep/Sumo/Bus for journey to KALIMPONG. Overnight in Hotel. Evening sightseeing of DEOLO- a picturesque hilltop resort with excellent views and a lake. Evening free Kalimpong. O/n rest.
DAY-2:
Depart for Lava- a tiny hamlet in the Darjeeling Hills. On arrival transfer to Land Rovers for 4 kms drive or trek (It makes a beautiful trek to Rishyap- 4kms from lava, while the luggage can go in a Land Rover) to the hill top village of RISHYAP. A small village where time stands still under the looming Kanchedzonga Peak. Explore the countryside on foot. O/n in Rishyap.
DAY-3:
Pre-breakfast optional trek (45 minutes) to Tipin Dara- a sunset point from Rishyap. Post breakfast depart for Lava by Land Rovers; on arrival transfer to Jeep/Car for onward journey to NJP / Bagdogra Airport. (It is recommended for the Nature Lovers to spend another night at Rishyap for a trek to the Tipin Dara trek next day morning before starting for Lava). In such case the above itinerary will be of 4 Days & 3 Nights instead.

Option-2 (5 Days or 6 Days)
DAY-1:
Arrive, NJP transfer to Jeep/Sumo for journey to Garumara. Transfer to Resort at: Murti / Jhalong / Bindu / Rocky Islands / Chuk-Chuki / Khunia / Samsing / Suntalekhola / Chalsa / Lataguri or Garumara Jungle Resort. O/n in Dooar’s.
DAY-2:
Early Morning Jeep Ride among the Game Tracks of Garumara Forests. Depart after lunch for sightseeing of Jhalong , Bindu , Samsing ,Suntalekhola & Rocky Island. O/n in Dooar’s.
DAY-3:
Post breakfast depart for Lava- a tiny hamlet in the Darjeeling Hills. Evening visit the lava Monastery and some local sightseeing. O/n in Lava.
DAY-4:
Depart after breakfast for RISHYAP-a small village where time stands still under the looming Kanchedzonga Peak. Explore the countryside on foot. O/n in Rishyap.
DAY-5:
Pre-breakfast optional trek (45 minutes) to Tipin Dara- a sunset point from Rishyap. Post breakfast depart for Lava by Land Rovers; on arrival transfer to Jeep/Car for onward journey to NJP / Bagdogra Airport.
